Born in Quebec City, Denise Smith, developed a love for the arts at a young age. Following her move to the Toronto area, she became an active member of the Scarborough Art Guild.
 
Now a resident of Perth, Ontario, Denise is an active member of the Rideau Lakes Artists' Association, with a focus on her natural rustic surroundings.
