Don received his formal art training at THE SOCIETY OF ARTS AND CRAFTS  in Detroit, Michigan.  He worked as an illustrator in Detroit and Toronto before shifting to advertising; first forming his own company in Windsor as President and Creative Director; later joining a major advertising agency in Toronto as Account Supervisor; and finally moving to an international car manufacturer as National Advertising Sales Promotion Manager. After retiring in 1991, Don moved north of Kingston where he has exhibited in Kingston, Brockville and Rideau Lakes area.
