[Watercolour]
After a career in teaching Home Economics which included courses in design at the community college level, Margaret Ann Kelk first picked up a watercolour brush in the summer of 1997. Margaret Ann always knew she was an artist but was too preoccupied with making a living to pursue it. Her unique paintings involve using pigments found in nature as well as those found in the art shop. The inspiration for many of her paintings came while hiking in the mountains - but her subject matter ranges from portraits, landscapes, animals, birds and fish to fantasy. The rich earthy tones in her paintings reflect her love of nature and the outdoors. Margaret uses the same principles in designing the quilts she will have for sale.
