Christine Martin
I love everything about art, the process of creating it, seeing how people respond to it and the wonder of creating something that comes from within my heart and soul.
Being more of a self-taught artist, I have learned to embrace the nature of each of the mediums I work in, allowing their unique qualities to blend with my painting style. Besides painting in traditional mediums such as watercolour and acrylic, I enjoy painting with alcohol inks and procion dyes.
Flowers, birds and natural scenery are my favourite subjects, but every now and then an abstract or wildlife painting will emerge.
Over the past eight years have participated in juried and regional art shows in Ottawa, Kingston, Westport, Carleton Place, Smiths Falls, Perth and Elgin. My art is frequently displayed at the Perth Manor Boutique Hotel, Fiddleheads Restaurant and Ground Waves Gift Shop in Perth.
Formal training: Buckhorn School of Art, Haliburton School of Art, Art School of Peterborough. Member of the Rideau Lakes Artists’ Association and Four Brushes Fine Art Group.
