David Gilmore, a retired engineer, developed a keen interest in painting when he discovered the thrill of making coloured marks on paper. He lived overseas for 16 years which enabled him to attend painting courses in the UK, Greece, Spain and Italy.
David has had solo shows in Switzerland and Kingston, and, participated in many local shows. These include The Rideau Valley Art Festival, and, particularly the Rideau Lakes Artists Association shows “Art in the Barn” and “Paint the Summer”. He helped organize the annual “Art in the Saw Mill” show in Verona, ON and currently volunteers at “The Mess Studio” in Kingston.
He paints in watercolour and acrylics and his subjects include landscapes, architectural and marine scenes.
