Shane Belanger

Blacksmith Artist

Shane is a member of the Ontario Blacksmith Artist Association and is the artist at Gaibhnithe, located in the Lanark Highlands, Ontario.

 

Retiring from a construction engineering career, the natural transition to Art and Architecture using materials already familiar allows for a unique take on recreating and breathing new life to discarded or forgotten materials. 

 

Shane’s visual work is hand forged with recycled steel, metals, and live edge woods found locally. From his whales, sea creatures, sail boats and steel vessels, all of Shane’s work is unique and one of a kind.
