Susan Louise Walters

Susan was born in Toronto where her love of art blossomed at a very early age. She studied art in high school and at the age of 21, she began to develop her oil painting skills under the capable tutelage of a professional artist and teacher for 3 years. Creating art was now her passion!

She completed commissioned paintings for employees at IBM Toronto and was thrilled to receive an “honorable mention” for her painting, “Nesting Loon”, in the Emerging Artists category at the Buckhorn Wildlife Festival.

Susan is a member of the Rideau Lakes Artists Association and has had very successful shows at their “Art in the Barn” in Lombardy and the “Paint the Summer” shows in Perth, Ontario. She won first prize in the 2019 “Peoples’ Choice Award” for her painting “Sunset Symphony” at the Perth show. Susan is also a member of Arts Carleton Place and the West Carleton Arts Society. She has been a featured artist at the popular Arts Carleton Place juried shows.

Her paintings are now proudly displayed in collections from Victoria, British Columbia to Nova Scotia.

Susan has been painting now for over 50 years and enjoys bringing the rich textures and colours to her creations, always striving for realism and detail in her paintings.
